The CF Warrior Project proceeds
A portion of the proceeds from The CF Warrior Project will go to various charities helping in the fight against cystic fibrosis, including many of those featured in the book.
Dedicated to raising money and awareness to find a cure for cystic fibrosis.
On December 18, 1970, Wendy Carol Lipman was born. Unfortunately, this young CF Warrior lost her battle on January 2, 1971. Wendy died from complications of cystic fibrosis.
The1970s were definitely a different time for CF patients. Not only were there not as many treatments for CF, there was less knowledge of the disease in general.
Wendy’s spirit lives on through her family and her brother, Andy Lipman, a CF warrior himself. The first annual A Wish for Wendy Softball Challenge was in 2000, with friends and family raising money.
In 2006, Andy and his family established the Wish for Wendy Foundation, Inc. The softball event and the foundation have raised over $4 million for the national Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The Wish For Wendy Foundation Inc. continues raising funds to the national CF Foundation’s research for a cure, and to support other CF related charities. We are excited to expand our efforts and support the CF Warrior Project in sharing stories of warriors like Wendy and Andy and raising funds to fight CF.
